Vice-Chancellor's Early Career Investigator Award
Great news last night — I got a Vice-Chancellor's Early Career Investigator Award from the University of Western Australia. According to UWA's website, this award is given to young investigators "...who have demonstrated exceptional promise of pursuing a career in research or scholarship". I would really like to thank Marlene Zuk, Wade Hazel, Leigh Simmons and Dale Roberts, who all wrote reference letters for my application for this award. These letters surely helped me get it!
The award came with AU$ 1,500 research money that should fund a trip to an important conference somewhere. Please let me know of any conferences in the Philippines, Hawaii, Tahiti, or somewhere similar. It should probably be on Behavioural Ecology, Evolutionary Biology or Entomology/Arachnology as well ;)
